Objectives
The Society advances the professional practice of technical analysis in India through disciplined research, ethical conduct, peer-reviewed publication, education and structured collaboration with universities, financial institutions, fintechs and international bodies.
Why India Needs a Professional Technical Analysis Society
Despite India’s deep and mature financial markets, an independent professional body dedicated exclusively to technical analysis, research and ethical practice has been missing. ISTA is being established to fill this gap with rigour, transparency and disciplined governance.

Governance
Independent, transparent, member-led governance. Elected Governing Council with independent committees for research, journal, ethics, membership, certification, events and international relations. Constitution and Code of Ethics govern all activities.
Journal of Technical Market Research
A proposed peer-reviewed publication platform. Double-blind peer review, open access, adherence to internationally recognised publication ethics. Editorial Board to be constituted post registration.
Research Programme
A structured research programme comprising working papers, market studies, case studies, and research fellowships. Awards, methodology guidelines and reproducibility standards will be published.
Conference and Events
An annual national conference, thematic symposia, seminars, research presentation series, student competitions and members’ meetings.
Certification Roadmap
Six certification programmes are under development, from foundation to research fellowship. Programmes will launch only after academic approval by the Society. No examinations are currently active.
Three-Year Strategic Plan
- Year 1: Legal registration, constitution adoption, founding member roll, code of ethics, website and secretariat.
- Year 2: Journal launch, first conference, first cohort of certification pilots, university partnerships.
- Year 3: National presence, international collaboration applications, research awards.
Expression of Interest Process
Register your interest via the online form on /membership. Submissions are treated strictly as expressions of interest. Applications will be reviewed after legal registration by the Membership Committee. Membership numbers and digital cards are issued only upon activation.
